Capacity Building & Training
SAMS strives to develop a knowledge sharing and learning forum that can help provide skill enhancement and development opportunities to a wide range of users working in the Public Health, Government and the development sectors in India. SAMS works towards imparting knowledge, providing technical and functional trainings and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to help equip field staff with the right skill sets and develop abilities in them to strengthen the field level processes.
Till date, SAMS has worked across the entire country and trained nearly 40,000 resources deployed in the health and development sectors. For those projects where new technology investments were made by SAMS to enable a web-based service delivery model with real-time data analytics, adequate steps were also taken to fully train the field-personnel to comply with the new IT enabled techniques. With strategic planning and implementation, the SAMS model of training and development has helped take capacity building processes to the next level.
SAMS has developed
- Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Manuals for State, districts and sub-district level drug stores for instituting best practices in Supply Chain Management for Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) and National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP)
- Training Manuals for imparting training to state, district & block level officials, pharmacists, medical officers and consultants under the National Public Health Programmes viz. RNTCP and NVBDCP.
The concerned National Public Health Programmes also adopted the SOPs and Training Manuals subsequent to extensive field testing through pilot trainings and incorporation of suggestions and comments from various user groups.
