SAMS has been instrumental in supporting the eVIN project with the Recruitment, Pay-rolling, Training and Capacity Building of VCCMs/Cold Chain Handlers, Financial Management, Logistics Management and Programme implementation assistance.
Following successful completion of the eVin projects Phase 1 & 2, for Ernst and Young, in January 2017, SAMS was engaged directly by UNDP for executing eVIN Phase 3, whereby SAMS was required to provide support in Manpower Deployment & Management and Capacity Building of Government Staff working for Cold-chain and Vaccine Logistics for Universal Immunization Programme. This project was implemented in the North and North-East zones for the UIP programme.
Nearly 142 VCCMs were recruited and placed in the project locations across the North and North East zones.
Overall, SAMS has been responsible for assisting UNDP in conducting 630+ State and district level trainings, wherein approx. 27,000+ cold chain handlers. District and state level officials were trained on Vaccine Storage, Supply Chain Management through eVIN web-based and mobile phone technology. The trainings facilitated the generation of real time data on Vaccine Stocks availability at State, Zonal, Regional, District, PHCs and Cold Chain sites across the 11 project states.
